The St. Francis House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, opened its doors in 1987 to serve the homeless, welcoming individuals of all backgrounds. Founded by Bishop Paul Dudley and Pastor David Holm, it began with the Little Flower Convent. In 2018, a capital campaign funded a new facility, which was completed in December 2019, providing 135 beds and 7 family units.

Located on the same block as the main building, Healing Home will include 38 one-bedroom efficiency units, with 19 units for men and 19 units for women. Four of these units will be reserved for youth aging out of the foster care system in partnership with Sioux Falls Housing. Healing Home expands the organization’s existing services while introducing new spaces designed to support them.

7 Amazing Things DONORS Have Made Possible

  • 1. Workforce

    96% of the guests of the St. Francis House assisted with the workforce shortage in our community.

  • 2. Debt Paid

    Our guests have paid off $379,384.38 in debt to fines, restitution, child support or other debts such as medical bills, utilities, etc. in 2024

  • 3. Housing

    We welcomed 542 adults and 28 children into our home in 2024 by providing them a safe and sober place to begin rebuilding their lives.

  • 4. Meals

    We have provided 118,584 meals to our guests in 2024.

  • 5. Expanding Services

    Our guests receive additional support with weekly visits from 7 RNs, onsite meetings from a mental health provider, and twice monthly AA meetings.

  • 6. Volunteering

    Our amazing volunteers provided over 5,374 hours throughout 2024 by serving meals, making sack lunches, organizing our facility, and helping with projects.

  • 7. Financial Freedom

    54% of our guests who have completed our program have paid off all of their debts!

    From August 2015 to September 2024, our guests have paid off $3,635,605.51
