If for some reason you suddenly lost everything? You’ve lost your savings and your treasured possessions are all gone. You have no one to turn to for help. You are homeless, hungry, alone and just hurt emotionally. Where would you go? What would you do?
Today, more than ever, people are dealing with these issues and thankfully they can turn to the services of the St. Francis House. Please join us in raising awareness by providing a new or gently used backpack filled with 10lbs. of canned goods, thermals, wool socks, gift card to purchase shoes for our guests, etc. Participants wear flip-flops or shoes that are not comfortable, and only a light jacket or a sweatshirt (we invite your children to walk, but want them to be dressed appropriately in warm clothing). For just one day, let’s walk a mile in their shoes. We will begin the walk at the memorial for the homeless men, women and children that have passed which is located at 6th Street and the Big Sioux River.
Call 605-929-1603 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to register. Pre-registration is appreciated, however not required. We encourage you to involve your family and friends by asking them to sign up and walk with you
