General Volunteer Opportunities

 Serving Opportunities:
There are a variety of volunteer opportunities available for you to get involved at St. Francis House. Here's a few of the opportunities from which you can choose:

Cleaning: We want to keep our new home clean and provide a safe, healthy environment for our guests, staff and volunteers. While our guests do a great job with the daily cleaning chores, there are some projects that require additional assistance.

Kitchen Assistants: If you like to cook, bake or would like to lend a hand, there's always something to do in our commercial kitchen.

Outdoor Facility Upkeep: Seasonally we need help raking leaves, trimming branches and bushes and keeping our facilities neat on the outside.

Transit Van Driver: Help transport our guests to work, appointments or meetings in our transit van. Shifts are available in the early morning, morning, afternoon, early evening and late night. Many of our guests work nights and weekends, meaning drivers are always needed. We ask that shifts be at least 2 hours in length, depending on the number rides needed by our guests.

Activity Assistant: To help foster community at St. Francis House, we hold several weekly activities to help entertain our guests when they aren't working. Some of the activities include bingo, trivia contests, cornhole tournaments, movie nights, Bible studies and worship services. We are looking for individuals who are interested in helping lend a hand in organizing and running these events.

Special Events Volunteers: The St. Francis House hosts special events during the year, including our dinner and auction in July and the Walk a Mile in My Shoes event in November. In addition, we host holiday celebrations throughout the year for our guests, so if you would like to bake Christmas cookies, wrap Christmas presents or plan an Easter egg hunt, these are great opportunities for families and groups.
